What a Pro engagement actually looks like

No mystery. Here's the 14-day timeline, day by day.

D1
Kickoff call + pre-visit questionnaire

30-minute call with facility manager. We send a 10-question pre-visit form so we arrive knowing your facility size, equipment vintage, recent incidents, insurance carrier, and renewal date.

D2
On-site walk-through — Site 1

Licensed electrician arrives on-site. We walk every electrical room, MCC, panel, transformer, and switchboard. Asset tags photographed, nameplate data captured, environment conditions noted.

D3
On-site walk-through — Sites 2 & 3

Repeat at the other facilities in scope. For Pro tier, all three sites are typically captured in a single day.

D4
Thermography scan of critical gear

Scheduled during peak load hours. Main service, primary switchgear, MCCs, and any equipment flagged as critical on day 2. NETA classification applied to findings.

D5
Data entry + Chapter 9 scoring

Every asset entered into Reliability Coach. Chapter 9 composite score computed with one-line justifications for each input. Preliminary gap report drafted.

D6-7
Arc flash study

IEEE 1584-2018 calculation for main service and branch distribution. Incident energy, arc flash boundary, and PPE category determined. Labels prepared.

D8-9
EMP authored

Full 8-section written EMP drafted in your facility's own voice, signed and dated, ready for your review. LOTO and contractor management sections included.

D10
Arc flash labels installed on-site

Physical labels affixed to every piece of equipment ≥ 50V in scope. Photographs taken for the record.

D11
Draft review meeting

90-minute call with facility manager to walk through the draft EMP, gap report, and Chapter 9 scores. Your feedback shapes the final deliverable.

D12-13
Revisions and final packet

Changes from the review meeting incorporated. Final renewal packet assembled: EMP, inventory, Chapter 9 records, thermography report, arc flash study, training records review, NFPA 70E gap plan.

D14
Delivery + handoff

Signed, dated, bound hardcopy delivered on-site. Digital packet emailed to your broker if requested. Ongoing monthly retainer begins — we keep the program alive and ready for next year's renewal.

Frequently asked questions

Is this really a two-week turnaround?

Yes, for Starter and Pro. Enterprise engagements with 4+ sites run 3–5 weeks depending on scheduling. The clock starts after the kickoff call.

What if you find something dangerous during the walk-through?

You'll know the same day. Any major deficiency (NETA Category 1 thermography finding, unsafe conductor, missing overcurrent protection) is flagged verbally at the time of discovery and in writing before we leave. You decide whether to remediate it in-scope or bring in a separate electrical contractor.

Do you do the actual repair work?

We can, through the parent electrical maintenance business, but it's always quoted separately. The compliance engagement is flat-rate and independent — we have no incentive to find work that isn't there.

Why a monthly retainer? Isn't this a one-time project?

The EMP is a living document. Insurance carriers want to see an updated program every renewal, not a dusty one from two years ago. The monthly retainer covers the annual program review, Chapter 9 score updates, training record tracking, and free 30-minute email/call support whenever something changes at your facility.

What if I cancel the retainer?

You keep everything delivered — the EMP, the inventory, the reports. Cancel anytime with 30 days' notice. You just lose the ongoing program maintenance.

Are you actually a licensed electrician?

Yes. Reliability Coach is a service offering from a working electrical maintenance business. You can verify the license number when we arrive on-site.

What if I just want the free app?

Go ahead. It's genuinely free, runs in your browser, and will build you a first-draft EMP in about 30 minutes. The DFY service exists for teams that don't have the time or don't want to own the authoring process — not as a paywall.

Not sure which package fits?

Book a free 30-minute gap assessment. We'll walk your facility, review what you already have on file, and tell you honestly which package fits (or whether the free app is all you actually need). No obligation.
